Being fired is, as I know, all fine and dandee. Been there, done that.
Being fired on the phone is, to my opinion, a nice touch.
Being fired on the phone in mid-rehearsal…
Well, I think no one can beat that one.

In fact, I know a case – a true case! – which beats that one. It is the sad story of a friend of a friend of mine, who spent a very intimate and eventful one-night-stand with his company's human-resources dept. manager, only to be told next morning, by same manager, that he's fired – a fact which she was aware of well in advance.

But still, I think my own story has merit too.
